Carnival birthday party

For our premier post, we'll be sharing designs we did for a carnival inspired party for a 5 year old girl's birthday.

While the party took its inspiration from a carnival, the decor and color scheme was uniquely muted in creams, blacks and yellows with a vintage edge. So, of course a unique invitation was needed to introduce this theme to the guests- and that's where we come in!

The first design concept was a themed carnival poster that would mail out in a mailing tube.

While this captured the theme perfectly the client wanted something with even more oomph. So the poster graphic was used instead as a save the date emailed to everyone.

It seems that with every new client when we come up with a new invite concept it becomes our all time favorite. This usually lasts until the next job comes along. But for now, this invite is our all time favorite:

Isn't it cute?! At first glance it looks like a regular Barnum's Animal Cracker box. But at closer inspection you see that the text has been all changed to include the party info.

And what's inside? Animal crackers silly! So the first question we're often asked when we produce these "out of the envelope" concepts is...how's it mailed? This invite was simply wrapped in a customized parcel kraft paper that had each guest's name and address already printed onto it. Add a couple of stamps and they were off!

We also designed all the coordinating printed material for the party decor including signs and banners for the carnival games, food table labels that were placed in mini ornate frames, candy and dessert table tags, little pennants for the straws, mini popcorn cones, and the birthday pennant banner. No detail was overlooked!

Here are some more highlights from this special carnival party. We especially love the jumbo balloons, appetizing dessert table and continuation of the black and yellow color scheme throughout the party. Oh and the cake topper was too cute!
